Building his Backyard Birdhouses

Check these out! My husband is in the process of making another batch of Backyard birdhouses Handmade. Their a big hit :-) He has quite the process from start to finish.

First, cuts all the sides and roofs with a miter saw. Then angles the 'tops' front, back and sides with the miter. Then drills out the entry holes with a drill press.

Next, Routers edges that need to be done, including the roofs.

Now it's time to assemble. Glues each side with wood glue before nailing them together with a nail gun. Then measures and cuts out pieces for each bottom. Glues and nails them in. Wood putty's all the nail holes and anything else that may need it. Lets the houses dry for a day.

Then sands all the sides, roofs, (both sides) with a belt sander. Gives it a final all over sanding with a pad sander.

Next, puts a coat of primer on and 2 coat of paint. Let dry for a day. Final coat of paint. Let dry for another day.

Assembles the hardware on it.......Done!
